Objective: To create a library where users can view, sort, re-share, delete, and manage media created and shared through the app.
The page’s initial layout would appear in a grid gallery format that can be expanded into an isolated gallery view when clicked upon. Within the isolated gallery view, the media can be downloaded while the media’s share history will appear on the side.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the challenges was determining the amount of information we wanted to surface on each media thumbnail. The size restriction would compromise the clarity of the media. In order to combat that, we decided to tag the thumbnails with photo, video, video clip, and GIF icons.
The idea of media library was again to support stakeholder interest of maintaining and growing sharing numbers. The hypothesis was, with a repository of the creator’s media, it would personalize the product and fortify another point of convenience. Rather than having to keep track of their social media footprints on multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Vine, etc), users could not only share and engage with their fans in one place, but refer to Epoxy as a one stop shop in media management as well.
